Safety & certifications

Safety is a company-wide priority

Efficiency and safety go hand-in-hand. Our aim is the safest work environment for everyone — clients, subcontractors, employees and the general public.

Safety program

How we keep crews and the public safe

Comprehensive in scope and continuous in outlook, the 406 Underground safety program covers employee training, including site-specific safety orientations. We follow safe construction practices and high standards of equipment maintenance, and strive for zero accidents or incidents on every job site.

  • Daily job hazard analysis. Every crew completes a JHA so everyone on site knows the hazards.
  • Site-specific safety orientations as part of employee training.
  • Drug testing of all employees through private drug testers.
  • Driver's license checks on all employees.
  • Locate and pothole first. Utility crossings are exposed before boring.
  • Compliant work zones set to local, state and federal guidelines.
