Water Lines
Trenchless drilling lets us bring water lines under roads, driveways and landscaping without digging them up.
Water Lines from 406 Underground
We install water services, mains and well lines by directional boring or trenching, depending on the run, the ground and what's in the way.
Boring is often the cleanest way to cross a road or finished yard; trenching may be better for long open runs or multiple pipes.
What we do
- Water service lines
- Water mains and extensions
- Well-to-house lines
- Irrigation and poly pipe
- Road and driveway crossings
- Sleeves and casings
How it works
Locate
Existing utilities are located and potholed.
Bore or trench
The line is installed at the depth required for frost and spec.
Connect
Pipe is left ready for connection or tied in by the plumber.
Restore
Surfaces are restored.
Why it pays
- No torn-up driveway or lawn on bored crossings
- Bore or trench, whichever is cheaper for the run
- Montana frost-depth experience
“The crews not only provide accurate bores, but also take responsibility for their actions and clean up after themselves without being asked when leaving a jobsite. Four O Six is also proactive in locating utility crossings… Montana owned and operated, this company has a family touch to it and it shows in their desire to do a good job at a minimal cost.”

Can you bore a water line under my driveway?
Yes. That's one of the most common residential bores.
Do you do the tie-in?
Scope varies; we can coordinate with your plumber or the utility.
