HDD and directional drilling consulting for jobs in the UK and Europe — on your job site or remote by phone and video.
Directional drilling consulting in the UK & Europe
Directional drilling in the UK and Europe is often about crowded streets: old utilities with patchy records, tight working space and strict rules on disruption.
A team of consultants can review a profile, a bid or a fibre-build plan, or help on a problem bore by video. Consults are in English. We'll come to your site or work it remotely, alongside the local engineer and contractor of record.
What we can help with
The same consulting we offer everywhere, with the local conditions in mind:
Ground conditions
- Clays. Stiff clays under many cities — good for holding a hole, hard on production if the fluid is wrong.
- Chalk & rock. Chalk, sandstone and harder rock depending on the region.
- Glacial ground. Till with cobble and boulders across northern areas.
- Old ground. Fill, old foundations and abandoned services in historic towns and cities.
General conditions only. Every site is different — send what you know about yours.
Permits & approvals
Street works permits, local authority approvals and utility records are handled under each country's own system, and watercourse and rail crossings carry their own consents. Those stay with the owner and contractor; we help plan the bore to fit them.
Typical crossings
- Urban streets with dense, old utilities
- Motorways and trunk roads
- Rivers, canals and drains
- Railways
- Protected and sensitive sites
Time zones & remote consults
The UK is seven hours ahead of Helena and most of continental Europe eight, so our morning is your afternoon. Calls are scheduled in that overlap. Video from the rig, the pit or the returns works well for troubleshooting; plans, profiles and bid documents can be reviewed between calls, with written recommendations after each session.
Units & documents
Metric (metres, millimetres, bar or kPa, L/min).
On your job site
We're glad to travel. A consultant can come to your site for planning, troubleshooting or training, working alongside the local engineer and contractor of record — scope and travel costs agreed up front. Consulting is field-experience based and doesn't replace a licensed engineer's stamped design.
